Eco by Sonya: Skincare Review

With the summer behind us, it can be hard to say goodbye to our tanned, glowing skin and embrace the darker, colder months of Autumn and Winter. Luckily, skincare has come such a long way that we don't necessarily need to say goodbye - with proper care we can maintain our tan and keep our skin feeling good all year round. Previously, I've never been to keen on using self-tanning creams and lotions because I've been wary of what ingredients are being used to, effectively, stain my skin. With a bit of research I've learnt that most companies use an extensive range of synthetic 'nasties' and GM ingredients in their tanners and, also, in their regular skincare. As a result, I was so excited to find 'Eco by Sonya' - an Australian brand which creates organic, natural products that include products to create a tan, but also products to maintain a tan. 'Organically Epic' are now stocking 'Eco by Sonya' in the UK - so I couldn't wait to share with you my experience of the brand and four of my favourite products.

PHB All In One Natural Mascara

This year I discovered PHB Ethical Beauty and absolutely fell in love with their skincare. As a make-up junkie, I couldn't wait to give their cosmetics a go and, with my holiday fast approaching, their water-resistant, award-winning, All-In-One Natural Mascara looked like the perfect match for me.

Bonacure Sun Protect Travel Kit

Although we all enjoy the summer months, there's so denying that it's easily the toughest time for our hair. Whether it's purely just from the influence of the sun, or from the combination with chlorine or salt, the summer can leave our hair dry, damaged and faded. Bonacure have developed their 'Sun Protect' range which is designed especially to prevent and repair such damage. Their travel set contains three essential products (all 100ml each so perfect to take on holiday) packaged in a gorgeous wet bikini bag.

femfresh: Daily Intimate Wash

Although almost all of us recognise the need to use different cleansing products on our hands, face, feet and body, a lot of us ladies don't seem to realise that our intimate areas need to be treated differently too. For those of us who love a bit of pampering, 'femfresh' have created a range of skin care products for down there.

Fearne: From Dusk 'Til Dawn Eyes

Today, I wanted to share with you a little gem of a palette that I have in my make-up collection. Some of you may recall that Fearne Cotton launched a make-up range with Boots. Although I'm often a bit cynical when it comes to celebrity and cosmetics collaborations, I'm a huge fan of Fearne and, when I saw this palette, I just couldn't resist. Read on to see lots of pictures and hear about my feelings on the palette...

ARTDECO Celebration Iconic Collection: The Make-Up Base

ARTDECO is a German make-up brand that I've been keen to try for a long time now. Although still relatively new to the UK, ARTDECO are rapidly becoming more popular and I find myself admiring their range on a regular basis. With the launch of their Celebration Iconic Collection I decided it was about time I treated myself to see exactly what all the fuss was about... and, boy, do I get it now!

Accessorize 'Paradise' Eyeshadow Palette

After falling head-over-heels in love with the Accessorize 'Exposed' palette, I couldn't wait to get my hands on another from their range. After the gorgeous neutral shades in 'Exposed', I decided to try out some brighter colours for the summer and the 'Paradise' palette gives the perfect combination of both pastels and brighter, more metallic shades.

Read on to see plenty of swatches and examples of how I've been wearing these colours on the lids...

Limited Edition Batiste: Ella Henderson

When it comes to dry shampoo I always come back to Batiste. For me, they're tried and tested and I've yet to find another brand that makes dry shampoo that is as effective and as great smelling as them. After a stressful, exam-filled term at uni I needed to get myself a new can and was so excited to see a new limited edition scent in collaboration with Ella Henderson had just launched. I've honestly never found a Batiste scent that I didn't like, but I have to say that the scent of this Ella Henderson edition could possibly be by most favourite.

Arbonne Skincare: First Impressions

Arbonne is a brand that I never really knew much about, but recently my good friend Danielle began partnering with them and gave me the opportunity to try some samples of a few of their skincare ranges. The ranges correspond to particular skin types, which give you the means to make your skincare routine more suitable and personalised to you. As a skincare junkie I couldn't wait to give them all a try and you can read below to see some brief reviews of everything I've sampled. If you're interested in looking at the products on offer you can have a look at Danielle's Arbonne site: here

Girls Night In with Freeman Face Masks

Having just finished my exams, I felt I was in desperate need of a relaxing night in with the girls. We cracked open the bubbly, got plenty of snacks and decided we all deserved a pampering session. Our evening consisted of facial massages, foot spas, manicures and, most excitingly, a trial of some new face masks I'd recently discovered from Freeman Beauty, Their 'Feeling Beautiful' skincare range has an extensive collection of different scented masks that give your skin the TLC it deserves, whilst also providing you with a relaxing experience. Read on to hear all about the different masks we tried and our thoughts on them...

Joan Collins: Lash Growth Treatment

Like so many of us, I pile on the mascara to darken and lengthen my lashes, but I always envy those lucky people who have naturally long eyelashes. As a teenager, I tried countless 'tips and tricks' that claimed to boost your lash growth to no avail and eventually came to terms with the fact that I'd always need a helping hand from mascara or falsies to get those luscious, long lashes. However, the Joan Collins beauty range, 'Timeless Beauty', includes a lash growth treatment which claims to give visible results in 30 days of use. Could I have finally found a solution? Read on to hear all about my experience with this product and my thoughts...

Nailbox Unboxing: May 2015

May 2015 gives us the second ever 'nailbox' - a subscription service based exclusively on your nails. The cost is £15 a month (including delivery), but the service costs less if you choose an up-front subscription e.g. it only costs £13.50 a month if you choose a years subscription. In each box you'll receive 5 products which will be made up of 3/4 nail polishes and 1/2 nail tools or treatments - plus, you'll never receive the same item twice. In terms of value, I think this subscription is a great deal. At the most expensive price, you're looking at £3 a product and the items individually cost far more than that!

I absolutely loved the April box (see my review: here) and the May box is just as good... if not better! Read on to see what the box contains and plenty of swatches!

I also have a video of this unboxing which you can find on youtube: here.

Exuviance: 'Matte Perfection Primer' and 'Age Less Everyday Moisturiser'

A huge trend at the moment is the "no make-up" look and whilst it's great to embrace the natural look, it definitely puts more of an emphasis on having healthy, clear skin. To try and achieve the oh-so-desired glowing skin look, I've been trying out two new products in my skincare and make-up routine from 'Exuviance'. They're my favourite kind of product in that they have a multitude of uses and this is the result of the clever combination of ingredients.

Oxygenetix: Oxygenating Foundation

When it comes to foundation I want a long-lasting, full coverage product that won't look cakey and won't give me break outs. Unfortunately, I've spent years trying countless different options and have never got the desired finish... until now, that is. I know that a lot of women struggle to find their perfect match when it comes to foundation, so I wanted to take the time to introduce you to 'Oxygenetix' - a foundation originally used to help help and conceal skin after cosmetic surgeries and treatments, but is now used worldwide by make-up artists, particularly on film sets when they need a long-lasting cover. When I first heard of it, I thought it sounded too good to be true, but amazingly it surpassed by expectations massively.

Nadeballa: Day Reviving Cream

I love companies that have a bit of history - not only does it make them more interesting, but it also shows their expertise is good enough to last them through the years. Nadeballa is a company that has spanned four generations. It began with the Nadeballa great-grandmother, Dinas, who created the recipe for the original cream around 83 years ago, but it wasn't until a few years ago that the family started to sell the creams as a company. They're now shipping worldwide and the range now includes the 'Daily Reviving Cream', the 'Night Replenishing Cream' and the 'Rich Night Replenishing Cream'.

It's an inspiring story, but one of the most impressive aspects of the Nadeballa creams is how they're made and what they're made from. Read on to hear all about it and my experience...

Braun Face: Cleansing Brush + Mini Epilator

Sometimes, no matter how good your cleanser or face wash is, you're left feeling like you've hardly scratched the surface with your skin care routine. Often, I'll spend ages massaging cleanser into my skin hoping it'll penetrate those pores, but afterwards I'm still left with those scary black-heads and flakey, dry skin. Luckily, I've found something that has completely revolutionised my skin care routine and has finally given me the results that I've been looking for: Braun Face - the world's first cleansing brush & mini-epilator. Earthnicity Minerals: Foundation and Velvet HD Finishing Powder

'Eathnicity Minerals' is a cruelty-free and vegan-friendly company that produces all-natural mineral make-up... and when I say 'all-natural', I really mean it! Their make-up is made up of 100% pure minerals, without any of the chemicals or artificial ingredients that you'll often find in drugstore products. As someone who is very breakout-prone, I can really appreciate the importance of avoiding these "nasty" ingredients - it's so counter-intuitive when you put on make-up to cover up blemishes, when you know the make-up itself will just give you more! Luckily, you don't have to worry about this with the 'Earthnicity' products, so I've been trying out their mineral foundation and their velvet HD finishing powder - read on to hear more...

Joan Collins Timeless Beauty: Nail Lacquer in 'Lady Joan'

When I heard that Joan Collins was launching a new beauty range, 'Timeless Beauty', I couldn't wait to see what it had in store for us. The range includes skin care, fragrance and cosmetics and all comes in the most beautiful packaging inspired by Hollywood glitz and art deco.

Joan Collins is a queen of glamour so I just had to try out a couple of her products. The first, which I'll talk about in this blog post, is one of nail lacquers. Read on to hear all about it and see some swatches...

5 Beauty Uses for Coconut Oil with JĀSÖN

When it comes to beauty it's rare to find a multi-purpose product. Take moisturisers for example; we buy seperate creams for our eyes, face, body, hands, feet etc. Most beauty products have one use and one use alone... but I've found an alternative multi-tasker which will contribute in so many ways to your beauty routine and it's completely natural. Let me introduce you to coconut oil...

Ilcsi Organic Skincare: Moisturiser and Masks

I love finding brands that make natural skincare, but Ilcsi takes 'natural' to a whole new level! Their skincare range is made from high quality organic ingredients including fresh herbs, fruits and vegetables, most of which are grown on their own organic plantation. They rely on the abilities of the fresh ingredients themselves to nourish the skin and, for that reason, you won't find any parabens, paraffin oils, vaseline or colourings in their products - basically, there's no nasties! Their huge respect for nature also shows through the fact that they are completely cruelty free and do not use any animal-based materials. Their products truly are one-of-a-kind and I've been blown away by how luxurious and effective they are - read on to hear a bit more about Ilcsi and the three products I've been trying...

Organii: Aloe Vera & Bamboo Shower Gel

This year I really want to explore organic and natural skincare, so I was really excited to find a company called "Organii" who pride themselves on making just that. Researching the brand just led me to become impressed further as I discovered how ethical they are - in both manufacturing and in terms of being suitable for vegans. Their skincare range includes soaps, sun screens and shower gels, but they also make plasters and mouthwasges and will be introducing some more great "everyday" products soon. I've recently been trying one of their shower gels with great results. Read on to hear more...

Braun Satin Hair 7 Styler

Like the majority of us ladies, I can't live without a straightener. Whether it's for a particular hairstyle, or just to tame my hair when it misbehaves, I can't help feeling like a straightener is a staple electronic. The only issue with using heating electricals on my hair is that I can't help feeling a little guilty about purposefully damaging my hair. I use spray on protectants, but I'd rather actively stop the damage occuring as opposed to just shielding from it. Luckily, Braun have brought out a new styler in their Satin Hair 7 range that is designed to minimise heat damage by personalising the temperature according to your hair. Read on to hear about my experiences with the styler...

Enigma Professional Indie Nail Polish

When it comes to nail polish, I am definitely a self-confessed addict. The two things that are most important to me when it comes to buying polishes are: 1) intense colour and 2) staying power. For Christmas I bought myself a ton of Ciate and Nails Inc polishes, but I've been so disappointed with them - they chip within the first couple of days and I'm constantly having to touch them up. I recently found Enigma Nails whilst looking for new products and I've been blown away by their quality - they've definitely ticked my two boxes and have gone above and beyond any other polish in my collection. Read on to find out more about these unique polishes and see the gorgeous shades I've been trying...

NURISS: Advanced Skin Care

When it comes to skincare, you have to be careful. Especially since it's so hard to hide when it goes wrong! For that reason my favourite skincare brands are ones that are endorsed by the medical profession and dermatological experts. NURISS, the skincare and wellness centre that you've probably heard being raved about in all of the magazines, has launched a skincare range including a huge range of scientifically proven ingredients to nourish, repair and protect your skin. I've tried two of the products from the range and can't wait to tell you all about them...

Braun Satin Hair 7 Brush with Iontec

When it comes to hairbrushes, I can't help but be picky. I have long, fine hair, but lots of it! All I have to do is turn my head and it seems a million knots appear. I'm constantly having to brush my hair, but, as you know, brushing can be pretty damaging to your hair - especially when styling. Braun have brought out their new Satin Hair 7 brush which encorporates ion technology to make brushing and styling healthier on your hair. Head & Shoulders: Extra Thickening Treatment

My main source of hair-envy definitely stems from a lack of volume in my own hair. I always think that volume gives so much life to a hairstyle, making your hair look healthy, yet glamorous! As someone with permanently flat hair I've tried my fair share of methods to encourage my hair to stop clinging to my scalp, but never with any success. 'Head & Shoulders' recently brought out a leave-in treatment which claims to give visible improvements in volume, so obviously I had to give it a go! Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stain

When it comes to lip products, "moisture" and "stain" are two words you wouldn't think to find together. I am a huge fan of lip stains, but they can be so drying - they always require a balm or a gloss to keep you comfortable. Revlon came up with a product that is supposed to be a moisturising stain - so I was keen to give it a try. Read on to hear my thoughts about it!

BlanX Teeth Whitening Toothpastes

As a typical Brit, who drinks far too many cups of tea each day, I'm always paranoid about staining my teeth. Bright, white teeth are so fashionable - you can't turn on the TV or open a magazine without admiring someones sparkling smile - but I've always been scared of the different whitening treatments that I've come across in terms of how harmful they might be to my teeth. A lot of teeth whiteners work by stripping the outer surfaces of your teeth (basically removing part of the stained enamel) which can leave your teeth really vulnerable to sensitivity. For this reason, I was so excited when I found a non-abrasive range of teeth-whitening toothpastes from Blanx! I've been using these products for a couple of months now, so I wanted to let you know how I've been getting on and what I think of this range! Read on to find out more...

Rimmel Lasting Finish Colour Rush Lip Crayons

They're my go-to lip product at the moment - and for good reason! Read on to hear my thoughts on my four favourite shades...

Blistex Relief Cream

I'm sure I'm not the only one who has experienced lips that are so dry or chapped that even layers of lip balm doesn't seem to help. It's usually at this point that my lips will crack and it's so painful. For a while, I've been looking for a product that would effectively soothe my lips in these situations and also actively make them better! I've been trying the Blistex Relief Cream, previously called Blisteze, and it's been so useful for me that I thought I'd share my experiences in case any of you need a remedy for cracked and sore lips or even cold sores. MUA Makeup Haul

MUA has always held a special place in my heart because it was one of the brands that I bought from when I first started using make-up. I've grown a lot since then and tried so many different brands, but I still always return to MUA when I want some affordable goodies!

I recently treated myself to a few bits and pieces, so wanted to share them with you. Read on to see what I bought!
