Blistex are my all-time favourite brand when it comes to lip-care. They're experts at what they do and I've always had great results whenever I use their products. With that being said, I was so excited to see that they've just brought out a new range of lip balms - 'Happy Lips'. We all know that a good lip balm is a staple everyday item and these looked fantastic. I really couldn't resist giving these a try, so I thought I'd tell you a bit more about them! So far, Blistex have launched two different scents: 'Mouth Watering Mango' and 'Simply Sensational Strawberry'.... and, yes, they smell as amazing as they sound. The strawberry scent is beautifully sweet. It reminds me of strawberry ice lollies and so every time I use it I instantly think of the summer.
The mango scent is unbeliably true to it's name. I've never actually seen a mango-scented lip product before, so I was really impressed with Blistex's choice here. I adore the smell of mango - so fruity and refreshing!
... now on to the effectiveness! With the balms being made by Blistex, I knew they wouldn't only be moisturising balms. The brand is all about caring for your lips not only in the moment, but in the long-run too. 'Happy Lips' are made with vitamin E which help to soften your lips and condition them - leaving them feeling nourished and healthy, whilst also moisturising them beautifully.
The consistency of the balm on your lips is perfect. It's not too heavy, it's not sticky, it's not greasy - it's simply smooth and refreshing. Not to forget, it tastes amazing! Obviously you're not supposed to eat these, but when you accidentally get a taste of it you sure are in for a treat!
In terms of staying power, Blistex are consistently good with this and the 'Happy Lips' are no exception. I only have to reapply after eating, which makes it an ideal balm to put on before you go to bed. It'll give your lips the TLC they deserve overnight. It's also incredibly soothing, so if you're suffering from chapped lips in these cold months definitely give these a go.
As you can see from the pictures, the packaging is just adorable. I love the bright colours; not only are they fun, but they also make these balms easy to find in your bag! The lip pattern on the outer covering is so sweet too. The product is a conventional wind up tube, making application quick and easy - no need to get your fingers messy with a tub etc.
For all you make-up lovers out there, these balms work perfectly with other lip products. For example, I love using lip stains and these balms are ideal for putting on top. They don't smudge the product and they're completely transparent so they don't disturb the colour pay off at all.
