Simply Straight: Ceramic Coated Straightening Brush

Today I'll be reviewing a product that has intrigued me ever since I first saw it: Simply Straight - a straightening hair brush by JML. In a nutshell, it's a hairbrush with ceramic plates that heat up sufficiently to straighten your hair. It claims to be quick, safe and gentle on the hair - a better alternative to the conventional straightener. I'm sure you'll agree that sounds great, but did it live up to expectations?

PHB Beauty: Acne/Blemish Skincare

PHB Ethical Beauty is a brand that I love to feature on my blog - not only because they make fantastic products, but also because of the principles they stand for. Today I'll be reviewing two skincare products from the acne/blemishes skin concern range: the anti-blemish treatment gel and the balancing exfoliator. I've recently been taking my fourth year medical exams - so my skin was, unfortunately, in the perfect state to see if these products worked!

Read on to hear a bit more about the background behind the company and my thoughts on these two products.

benecos: Apricot & Elderflower Body Peeling Scrub

The key to more radiant and silky-smooth skin is to exfoliate. With the summer coming up, it's the perfect time to invest in a new body scrub to get your body looking bikini-ready. 'benecos' have recently brought out a fantastic new body exfoliator that I couldn't wait to try out. If you haven't heard of the brand before, they're a company that develop natural cosmetics, skincare and haircare. All of their products are vegan, BDIH certified and are made from plant extracts controlled by organic farming. Above all of that, they also are sulphate free and do not contain any nasties like paraffin, parafens, silicones, PEG, synthetic colours, fragrances or preservatives.
For the past couple of months I've been using their Apricot and Elderflower Body Peeling Scrub. Read on to hear my thoughts...

Elemental Beauty: Foundation and Illuminator

If, like me, you often worry about the ingredients in your make-up that you're putting on your face everyday, then I would recommend trying some natural, mineral make-up. The advantage is that you're using a purer product, free from chemicals which performs just as well, if not better, than the drugstore equivalents. Elemental Beauty is a UK company that produces handmade mineral cosmetics with the added benefits of being cruelty-free, vegan, Halal and Kosher... perfect for everyone! I've recently been trying out one of their foundations and one of their illuminators... Read on to hear all about my experience.

Astral Face and Body Moisturiser

When it comes to skincare, I'm always on the look out for a 'holy grail' moisturiser. Sure, I love using those luscious body butters and those perfumed oils - but sometimes, you just need a tried-and-true method to give your skin some intense nourishment and moisture. Astral is one such product that has been around for over 60 years and I've recently discovered it. Read on to hear all about my thoughts on this affordable, highly effective cream...

Braun Satin Hair 7 IonTec Brush with Natural Bristles

As surprising as it may be, brushing your hair can cause a lot of damage to your hair which is why it's essential to use the right brush. If you find yourself tugging too hard then you could be at risk of damaging the hair follicles, increasing the risk of fall out, and breaking off any brittle ends. The key to healthy hair is gentle brushing - which, if you have fine hair or just lots of it, can often seem impossible due to knots. Luckily, Braun have just brought out a new hairbrush that is designed especially to make brushing smooth and easy with the use of some incredible technology. Read on to hear more...

Eco by Sonya: Skincare Review

With the summer behind us, it can be hard to say goodbye to our tanned, glowing skin and embrace the darker, colder months of Autumn and Winter. Luckily, skincare has come such a long way that we don't necessarily need to say goodbye - with proper care we can maintain our tan and keep our skin feeling good all year round. Previously, I've never been to keen on using self-tanning creams and lotions because I've been wary of what ingredients are being used to, effectively, stain my skin. With a bit of research I've learnt that most companies use an extensive range of synthetic 'nasties' and GM ingredients in their tanners and, also, in their regular skincare. As a result, I was so excited to find 'Eco by Sonya' - an Australian brand which creates organic, natural products that include products to create a tan, but also products to maintain a tan. 'Organically Epic' are now stocking 'Eco by Sonya' in the UK - so I couldn't wait to share with you my experience of the brand and four of my favourite products.

Although we all enjoy the summer months, there's so denying that it's easily the toughest time for our hair. Fearne: From Dusk 'Til Dawn Eyes

Today, I wanted to share with you a little gem of a palette that I have in my make-up collection. Some of you may recall that Fearne Cotton launched a make-up range with Boots. Although I'm often a bit cynical when it comes to celebrity and cosmetics collaborations, I'm a huge fan of Fearne and, when I saw this palette, I just couldn't resist. After falling head-over-heels in love with the Accessorize 'Exposed' palette, I couldn't wait to get my hands on another from their range. After the gorgeous neutral shades in 'Exposed', I decided to try out some brighter colours for the summer and the 'Paradise' palette gives the perfect combination of both pastels and brighter, more metallic shades.
