Braun Satin Hair 7 IonTec Brush with Natural Bristles

As surprising as it may be, brushing your hair can cause a lot of damage to your hair which is why it's essential to use the right brush. If you find yourself tugging too hard then you could be at risk of damaging the hair follicles, increasing the risk of fall out, and breaking off any brittle ends. The key to healthy hair is gentle brushing - which, if you have fine hair or just lots of it, can often seem impossible due to knots. Luckily, Braun have just brought out a new hairbrush that is designed especially to make brushing smooth and easy with the use of some incredible technology. Read on to hear more...

As you can see, the brush is made with natural bristles. There are two types: some chunkier transparent bristles and then some surrounding finer, shorter black bristles. The benefit of having this increased number is to make detangling easier. As someone with fine hair, I just have to breathe and I have a hundred knots. A brush like this can really infiltrate between hair fibres to make separating and de-tangling easier. The bristles are also embedded in a soft cushion base to allow greater flexibility - minimising that tugging action we need to avoid. The cushion base itself can actually be removed simply by clicking a button at the top of the brush. This make it so easy to keep your brush nice and clean!

The Braun Satin Hair 7 has another trick up its' sleeve... and that is the use of ion technology. This high-tech facility minimises frizz to allow a sleeker finish when styling your hair. The science behind this is pretty simple - negative ions are emitted by the brush to neutralise the positive charged hair strands. This eliminates static to give you a lovely smooth finish. By surrounding each individual strand, the ions also help to maintain a nourishing environment and to return moisture back into the hair.
You'd think that this technology would make the brush bulky, however the design is actually really sleek! If you look at the photo above you'll see a switch. When you turn this on the front panel turns green, but the real magic is happening at the back of the brush...

The ion jet is located at the tip of the handle, just at the base of the brush. It is covered by a shield to prevent damage to the jet, however with the switch of the button the shield is retracted to reveal the active jet. The ions then flow out and coat your hair as you begin brushing. This clever little brush also has safety in mind - after 5 minutes, the shield will automatically descend to cover the jet... just in case you've accidentally left it on!

Finally - let's talk about appearance. The brush is white and silver, giving it a really glamorous look. The brush is clearly well made - it has a sturdy and high quality feel. The handle is just the right length and gives good grip. Within the handle is your power source - 2 AAA batteries. It's easy to access this little compartment - just slide off the front panel to change the batteries.

From my personal experience - this brush definitely makes a difference. It's dramatically reduced the time it takes me to brush my hair - particularly after getting out of the shower. It also leaves my hair feeling so soft and looking significantly sleeker. I'm not experiencing the static that usually plagues me - styling my hair has been so much easier!

Braun is by far my favourite brand when it comes to beauty electricals - they're reliable and great quality.
