Dry Shampoo Top Tips with Batiste Care & Vitality

Dry shampoo has made my mornings so much easier, but I know that not everyone gets on with it. When I was buying my latest can - the new Batiste Care & Vitality range - I thought it would be a good idea to write a post on my top tips for using dry shampoo, so that everyone can get the most out of it!

1. An overnight wonder: The biggest complaint I hear about dry shampoo is that it leaves with you white patches or makes your hair look dusty. I have been known to overload my hair with dry shampoo on a crazy morning and then spending a quarter of an hour trying to sort out my white scalp. The key to avoiding this is making sure you give enough time for the dry shampoo to soak up the grease. The technique I have been using, which works wonders, is spraying my hair with dry shampoo before I go to bed. In the morning I give it a quick brush through and my hair looks fresh as a daisy. This is ideal if you know you're just not going to have time to wash your hair in the morning! The Batiste Care & Vitality Dry Shampoo actually has mandarin oil, which leaves your hair with a healthy shine - so it really does look like you've just washed it!

2. Volumise: Hang your hair upside down and spray dry shampoo into your roots for an effective volume boost!

3. Backcombing made easy: Whenever I'm going to be backcombing my hair, e.g. for an updo, I always spray some dry shampoo over the region I'll be upbrushing. This is particularly useful if your hair is really clean because it gives more texture to your hair.

4. Make hair grips have more grip: I've often heard of people using dry shampoo a bit like hairspray because it still gives you a bit of hold. I've never really tried in that respect, but I have used it as a substitute when it comes to spraying my bobby pins! Giving them a spray makes them more likely to stay put in your hair.

Dry shampoo is just so useful, every girl should have a can in their bathroom! I would also really recommend it for those of you who are trying to wash your hair less. We all know how bad washing your hair everyday is, so if you're guilty of this then why not try an overnight dry shampoo fix instead of the real thing?
